Wonder Woman #1 (DC, 1942) CGC 1.0 Universal Blue Label - Blue Chip Key Issue! Ok, no need for a introduction to this great comic book but.......... After just a few months in Sensation Comics, Wonder Woman had become too popular for that title alone, and this first issue of her own book started a four-decade run.

The heroine not only became a household name, she also joined Superman and Batman as the only superheroes to be in continuous publication even through the "dark years" of the early 1950s. Wonder Woman's early adventures still fascinate today, mainly because the Amazon's creator, William Moulton Marston, wrote unorthodox stories of the kind you wouldn't see in any other book, and for that matter H. Peter's art also stood out from anything else on the stands. As you might expect from a #1 issue, the heroine's origin story is retold and expanded upon here. Ok, here is the story behind this book.

It was slabbed and certified by CGC a 1.0 Universal Blue label with Cream to off white pages. When the book arrived to me , the slab was cracked on both sides. I kept the book and CAREFULLY removed the comic , making the CGC grade , NULL and VOID. I carefully put in a protector for preservation. Ok, now I took the 1.0 label and scanned it into my computer at the time and put label in a book to keep flat. Bottom line, is the label got lost and years later my computer blew up. I was sure I had a back up of scanned Blue label but up to now I cannot find it presently. CGC has this on record and possibly with pictures , but with out the serial # , I cannot get detailed grader notes.

However , this is not a 9.0 Book and looking at pics you can see why this was graded a 1.0. The book still has the Micro Chamber Paper on both sides that CGC placed behind front and back cover. Both front and back cover are tan inside. The books cover is fully detached and split with small pieces missing at edges. Small Piece at staple (War time- One staple book) bottom left near Nazi holding gun loose but there.

Inside the book , page with All Star ad had clean 2 tear at bottom. Page with Wonder Woman over Sub has small piece tear at bottom. All pages counted and are present.

Again, Cream to off white and supple. I was debating as to resubmitting but as this is a Unrestored 1.0 , I figured you can at least see book and decide for yourself. it's a 1.0. It still retains color and sits flat.

Most of the back and front cover is present. That being said she is all there and to be enjoyed by someone.
